Loving it...I just found your blog through WhyCle?. Loving it! Had to comment on the meat pies. My SIL was visiting from Australia over Christmas and the husband (also Australian) asked her to make meat pies from scratch. I made my own short crust and then used puff pastry simply because that's what the recipe called for -- short crust on the bottom, puff on the top. And since I can't easily find ready-made short crust in these parts, I sought out a recipe to make the short crust from scratch.<br /><br />The puff is definitely lighter and crisper than the short crust -- less doughy, if you will. Very similar in flavor, though...buttery and delicious!
